NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AMENDMENTS to the CODE OF ORDINANCES
Notice is hereby given that the Richmond Town Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING at the Town Hall on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. on proposed amendments to Ch. 2.26 and Ch. 13.05 the Richmond Code of Ordinances.
Ch. 2.26, entitled Water Department, would be amended to provide that the department can be headed by a director or by a qualified independent contractor.
The proposed amendments to Ch. 13.05, entitled Water System, would clarify the responsibilities of the water department and the customer concerning new water service connections, establish the fees and charges a customer must pay for a new water service connection, and provide that service pipes installed in privately-owned streets are owned and maintained by the water department unless other ownership is legally established.
The proposed amendments may be examined at the Town Clerk’s Office, Richmond Town Hall, 5 Richmond Townhouse Road, Wyoming, R.I., between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. Copies are available for 15 cents per page. The proposed amendments may be changed during the public hearing, without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any such change will be presented for comment during the public hearing.
Persons with sensory impairments who will require auxiliary aids during the meeting should contact the Town Clerk’s Office (401-539-9000 ext. 9) at least 48 hours before the meeting.
