How do I appeal my motor vehicle tax bill?
Appeals must be filed within thirty (30) days of the mailing of your tax bill per Rhode Island General Law 44-34-8. Only values set by the Vehicles Value Commission can be appealed to the commission. Forms are available in the assessor's office. Non-commission values must be handled at the local level.
