Probate Court is held the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Town Council Chambers of the Richmond Town Hall. The Honorable Judge Christine Engustian presides. The Town Clerk is also the Clerk of the Probate Court.
The filing fee for a probate petition, pursuant to RI General Law, is $34.00. Petitions not on waivers are advertised in the Chariho Times, which is published on Thursdays only. The fee of $30.00 for advertising must be submitted with the petition and filing fee. Petitions to be advertised must be submitted thirty days in advance of the hearing date. A petition on waivers can be filed until noon of the Thursday preceding the probate session.
